Feel, then heal. This phrase has always been theme surrounding true break-throughs. It is through allowing yourself to fully experiencing the emotion can you truly move from it in a positive, healthy manner. Everyone wants to get out of the mud, but no one wants to go through it. I became a Licensed Professional Counselor to help my clients achieve that enlightenment.
This includes asking thought-provoking questions to guide them to draw their own conclusions, giving them the empowerment needed to make life changes. My calming disposition creates a vibe that enables a safe space for my clients to not only be open with me, but open and honest with themselves.
I graduated from Dallas Baptist University with a Master’s in Professional Counseling. I have counseled diverse backgrounds and all age groups ranging from pediatrics to geriatrics suffering from depression, anxiety, grief, anger management, and psychosis. My background in inpatient behavioral hospitals has given me the experience to treat clients who have experienced a psychotic break as well as those who are in active crisis. I’m also trauma-informed. Therefore, I can utilize interventions such as EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing) to help my clients heal from past trauma while I teach them healthy coping skills to manage negative emotions or triggers.
It is my desire that my clients leave each session feeling validated, heard, and armed with hope and a plan to empower them outside of our sessions.
